Lexist delivered a 2.5-hour banking sector masterclass to Halkbank on key data protection issues affecting banks, including banking secrecy and customer confidentiality, the distinction between explicit consent and customer instructions, domestic and cross-border data transfers, and the use of cloud services and artificial intelligence.
Drawing on practical examples and decisions of the Turkish Personal Data Protection Board, the training also addressed data security, retention and disposal obligations, and the consequences of unauthorised access and disclosure.
