Sezer Yakut

Senior Associate

Sezer Yakut is an International Arbitration Senior Associate with particular focus in investment treaty arbitration and commercial arbitration.

Sezer advises and represents governments and private clients on international dispute resolution issues and prospective claims under bilateral investment treaties and commercial contracts. He has worked on both investor-state and private arbitrations and has represented clients in arbitration proceedings under a variety of institutional rules (ICSID, SCAI, ICC etc.)

Before joining Lexist Law Firm, he represented international and domestic banks before Turkish courts as well as provided his service for telecommunication companies and media holdings. Thereby, he has worked on a variety of matters concerning financial services, banking, media and telecommunication sectors, with regard to Commercial Law, Consumer Law, Intellectual Property Law, Labour Law, Enforcement Law and Press Law.

He also holds an LLM degree from International Commercial Law Programme at Cardiff University and continues to contribute to scholarly work with academic papers on an ongoing basis. In addition, he is a member of the Young Arbitration Group of Energy Disputes Arbitration Center (EDAC).
